The Maryland Legislative Coalition: Bring the Voice of the People to the Halls of Power
Each summer, we connect with NGOs to gather top legislative priorities for the upcoming session. We engage directly with lawmakers, helping shape a clear MLC agenda rooted in local impact. Once bills are filed, we track them using spreadsheets from the Maryland General Assembly, then mobilize our members to email legislators and submit testimony using our pre-drafted templates, amplified on X, Facebook, and Bluesky. From there, we create legislative scorecards (yes, spreadsheets and slides!), and support major events like the annual Environmental Summit recruiting speakers and organizing legislative briefings while handling outreach and promotion across social media. Whether you are into policy strategy, persuasive writing, or making sure the right people show up at the right time, there’s a role for everyone. |
